Effect of different feeding levels and grazing on the growth performance and carcass characteristics of Lan-Yu pigs

Effect of different feeding levels and grazing on the growth performance and carcass characteristics of Lan-Yu pigs

Journal of the Chinese Society of Animal Science 32(1): 15-21

Thirty-two (n=32, 16 males and 16 females) pigs were divided into 4 groups and were fed 0.5, 0.8, 1.1 or 1.3 kg/day of the grower diet during the grower phase (15-30 kg body weight) and 0.9, 1.2, 1.5 kg/day or ad libitum during the finishing phase (30-50 kg body weight). A grazing experiment with 16 pigs kept on a pasture and supplemented with 1.2 kg/day finisher diet was also performed.
