Effect of different forced moulting programmes on the main production parameters in commercial laying hens

1093 hens from a commercial cross (Nick Brown), 86 weeks of age, were used to determine the effects of different forced moulting programmes on production. The hens were divided into 1 control and 2 treatment groups. The hens in the control group were fed throughout the experiment with commercial layer ration. The 1st treatment group was fed a whole-grain barley feed during the first 10 days and then fed a commercial layer ration from day 11 to the end of the experiment.
