Effect of different methods of planting/sowing and NPK levels on rice

A field experiment was conducted on rice ADT 38 during August 1995 to January 1996 in Tamil Nadu, India to study the effect of planting/sowing methods and NPK levels. Line planting registered the highest number of tillers/m2 but was on par with direct sown rice. Among the planting methods. Line planting had maximum leaf area index (LAI) and dry matter production (DMP) at harvest. Increased level of NPK increased the growth attributes i.e. number of tillers/m2, LAI, and DMP.
