Effect of different modes of pollination on quantitative and qualitative characters in sunflower seeds (Helianthus annus L.)

In an experiment conducted in Pusa, Bihar, India during 1999-2000, pollination efficiency of Apis cerana indica and A. mellifera on quantitative and qualitative characters of sunflower revealed that among the different modes of pollination, the number of filled seed per capitulum (718.10), seed set (74.50%) and 1000-seed weight (55.19 g) was maximum in hand+insect pollinated crop followed by open to all insect pollinators.
