A field experiment was conducted during 1994-95 and 1995-96, in Faisalabad, Pakistan, to evaluate the effect of different moisture regimes and fertilizer levels on the NPK uptake and dry matter accumulation of spring-planted sugarcane. Three irrigation levels (1.2, 1.0 and 0.8 irrigation coefficient) were arranged in main plots and six fertilizer levels (100-0-0, 100-100-0, 100-100-100, 150-100-100, 200-100-100 and 250-100-100 kg NPK ha-1) were randomized in subplots.
