Effect of different packagings on soft rot (Fusarium spp.) of bell pepper in storage

Effect of different packagings on soft rot (Fusarium spp.) of bell pepper in storage

Journal of Mycology and Plant Pathology 33(1): 134-135

The effects of different packaging (gunny bag; unlined wooden box; bamboo baskets; and wooden boxes lined with iodine-potassium iodide, diphenylamine or newspapers) on soft rot (F. equiseti and F. semitectum in bell pepper during storage were investigated. Iodine-potassium iodide was used at 12.7 g of iodine crystals mixed in solution. Diphenylamine was used at 1000 ppm. F. equiseti was more sensitive among the 2 fungi to the different packaging treatments.
