Effect of different peat-based substrates on poinsettia growth

The performance of poinsettia Cortez grown on the following substrates was evaluated: highly or weakly humified peat from Poland, coarse- (0-30 mm) or fine-textured (0-7 mm) peat from Latvia, and Kronen Poinsettia (ready-to-use poinsettia substrate consisting of sphagnum peat and cotton grass). Plant height, diameter of bract crown, number of bracts on main stem, number of bracts per plant and overall quality did not significantly vary among the substrates.
