The effects of standard or low stocking densities on growth and carcass characteristics of pigs, as well as fatty acid composition of pigmeat, were examined. Eighteen female 3-way crossbred pigs (Landrace x Large White x Duroc) were used. The pigs were divided into 2 groups of 9: standard density group (3 pigs, 0.93 m2 breeding area per pig) and low density group (3 pigs, 2.46 m2 breeding area per pig).
