Effect of different pulsing treatments on postharvest life of Gladiolus cv. Happy End

Gladiolus Happy End was tested for postharvest longevity after pulsing with solutions containing sucrose (5 and 8%), cobalt sulfate (2 and 4 mM), calcium chloride (2 and 4 mM), and silver thiosulfate (2 and 4 mM). Observations were recorded on water uptake, transpirational loss, opening of florets, change in fresh weight, and vase life. Cobalt sulfate (4 mM) increased water uptake and transpirational loss.
