Effect of different sowing dates, phosphorus and sulphur levels on the productivity of sunflower under rainfed conditions of Kashmir Valley

Effect of different sowing dates, phosphorus and sulphur levels on the productivity of sunflower under rainfed conditions of Kashmir Valley

Annals of Agricultural Research 23(3): 448-450

An experiment was conducted in Kashmir, India, during the kharif season of 1999 and 2000 to investigate the effects of sowing date (on 15 April, 25 April and 5 May), P (at 40, 60 and 80 kg P/ha) and S (at 20 and 40 kg/ha) on the productivity of sunflower Morden. Late sowing (25 April and 5 May) recorded better yield compared to early sowing, with concomitant increase in the yield attributes (such as plant height and 1000-seed weight).
