Effect of different types of mulching and herbicidal treatments on weed management in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentus L.)

Journal of Research, Punjab Agricultural University 39(1): 41-45

ISSN/ISBN: 0048-6019

The effects of mulching and herbicides on weed management in tomato were determined in a field experiment conducted in Indian Punjab, India during 1991-93. The treatments comprised of three mulches (black polyethylene, transparent polyethylene and rice straw) two mulching techniques (full plot and half-metre wide strip mulching) and two herbicides (0.75 kg a.i. stomp ha and 12 kg a.i. goal ha), applied alone or in combination.
