Effect of dimethoate on the metabolism of rat dermal collagen in ageing fed with normal and high protein diets

Effect of dimethoate on the metabolism of rat dermal collagen in ageing fed with normal and high protein diets

Biomedicine 23(3/4): 36-42

The effect of dimethoate on the metabolism of collagen was studied with different age of female albino rats after a single injection of 3H-proline by determining the specific as well as total activities of 3H-hydroxyproline in the dermal collagen fractions and the urine. The content and synthesis of neutral salt soluble collagen and excretion of urinary hydroxyproline were found to be decreased in older animals compared to younger animals.
