Effect of dosage of fluorescein sodium on trend and quality of intestinal fluorescence in dogs

The comparative effects of three intravenous doses of fluorescein sodium on the trend and quality of intestinal fluorescence was studied in dogs. Twenty-four dogs were used to study fluorescein after its intravenous administration at 10, 25 and 50 mg/kg body weight. The time required to attain the maximum fluorescence in the intestine was 2.69+or-0.08, 2.69+or-0.07 and 2.63+or-0.05 minutes following intravenous injection of fluorescein sodium at 10, 25 and 50 mg/kg, respectively.
