Effect of dose and method of application of potassium chloride on the postharvest quality of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.)

Effect of dose and method of application of potassium chloride on the postharvest quality of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.)

Proceedings of the Interamerican Society for Tropical Horticulture 45: 110-112

Tomato fruit (Lycopersicon esculentum) Rio Grande were harvested from plants fertilized with different doses (220 and 330 kg/ha) of potassium chloride, applied to the soil in three ways (in the centre, beside the plant and at the bottom of the furrow). Fruit were sorted, washed and stored in refrigerated rooms at temperatures of 10 and 15 degrees C for 7, 14 and 21 days.
