Effect of doses and stages of application of fenoxaprop-p-ethyl on weed control and grain yield of wheat

A field experiment was carried out during the winter seasons of 1996-97 and 1997-98 in Pantnagar, Uttar Pradesh, India to study the effect of fenoxaprop-p-ethyl on weeds and wheat (cv. UP2338) yield. The treatments were 4 rates of fenoxaprop-P-ethyl (40, 60, 80, and 90 g/ha) applied at 2 stages (35 and 45 days after wheat sowing), weed-free and weedy control. Phalaris minor, Avena ludoviciana (Avena sterilis subsp. ludoviciana), and Melilotus spp. were the major weeds observed.
