Effect of doses of Captan and Thiram on germination of watermelon (Citrullus lanatus L.) seeds

A study was conducted to observe the phytotoxic effects of fungicides captan and thiram on watermelon seeds. Treatments comprised: three rates of captan (0.1, 0.3 and 0.5 g/100 g seeds) and thiram (0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 g/100 g seeds). Germination tests were conducted at 25 degrees C in the light and in the dark. Seedlings were cultivated hydroponically. Germination percentage and rate were evaluated, and leaves, stems and roots were measured and weighed.
