Freshly harvested pods of groundnut cultivars JL-24 and TMV-2 were dried under the sun (56 h) or shade (264 h), or mechanically dried at 40, 45, 50 or 55 degrees C for 12, 11, 10 and 9 h, respectively, from initial moisture content of 40-43% to 8-9%, in a field experiment conducted in Bangalore, Karnataka, India during the kharif season of 1995.
