Effect of drying temperature and air speed on cichoric acid and alkylamide content of Echinacea purpurea

Effect of drying temperature and air speed on cichoric acid and alkylamide content of Echinacea purpurea

Acta Horticulturae (576): 321-325

The objective of the investigations was to determine the effect of drying temperature and air speed on cichoric acid and alkylamide content in one-year-old E. purpurea aerial biomass. The samples were obtained from a commercial crop at the Faculty of Agronomy, University of Concepcion, in Chillan, Chile. Samples were harvested between 09.00 and 11.00 h. They were thoroughly cleaned and then dried in 'Protector and Schwarz' drier.
