Three sets of near-isogenic lines of wheat, derived from crosses of the near-isogenic lines of the wheat genotype Mercia (carrying the dwarf genes Rht1, Rht1s, Rht1b, Rht2, Rht3, Rht10, Rht12) with Kangfeng 8, Beijing 841 and Jing 411 as the recurrent parents, were grown in a field experiment to investigate the effect of dwarfing genes on the agronomic characters in wheat.
