Bacterial wilt caused by Pseudomonas solanacearum (Ralstonia solanacearum), is a very serious disease of eucalyptus in southern China, mainly in Guangdong, Hainan and Guangxi provinces. It causes the death of seedlings and young trees, with mortality exceeding 90 percent at some sites. Susceptible species include E. grandis, E. urophylla, hybrids between these two and E. citriodora.
