Effect of electrolyzed water washing on the cleaning and disinfection of hands

Effect of electrolyzed water washing on the cleaning and disinfection of hands

Taiwanese Journal of Agricultural Chemistry and Food Science 41(1): 52-57

The effect of washing with electrolysed water on the cleaning and disinfection of hands was studied. When skin came into contact with acidic electrolysed water (AC) an astringent sensation was felt, while alkaline electrolysed water (AK) caused slippery and slight itching sensations. After the first washing with AK for 30 seconds, and then AC for 30 seconds, a 3-log reduction in total plate count of microorganisms was achieved.
