Effect of endosperm extract on germination of somatic embryos in Coffea congensis x Coffea canephora hybrid

Rapid conversion of somatic embryos into plantlets was achieved by supplementing the crude extract of coffee endosperm in the culture medium. MS medium supplemented with different concentrations of kinetin (KN) ranging from 0.1 to 1.0 mg/litre, were tested for the germination of somatic embryos and the conversion process required ~8-10 months. The plantlets obtained on different concentrations of KN were weak and unsuitable for hardening.
