Effect of endotoxin of the inoculum of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MTCC, 1688) on the tissue cytomorphology of Macrobrachium rosenbergii (De Man)

The histopathological study in the tissues of Macrobrachium rosenbergii inoculated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MTCC, 1688) revealed marked changes in the muscle and hepatopancreas. The pathological changes in the muscle may be attributed for the dis-coordinated movement in the prawns. Likewise the changes in the hepatopancreas revealed the growth and metabolism of the bacterial species and the consequent release of hydrolytic enzymes responsible for the tissue changes.
