Effect of enhancers on percutaneous absorption of osthol across the excised full thickness rat skin

Effect of enhancers on percutaneous absorption of osthol across the excised full thickness rat skin

Die Pharmazie 58(9): 679-680

The in vitro percutaneous absorption of osthol, the active ingredient in Fructus cnidii derived from Cnidium monnieri, across excised rat skin was determined. Alongside this, the effects of three penetration enhancers such as chenopodium, menthol and Azone on the in vitro percutaneous absorption of osthol were determined. In a related experiment, the enhancement mechanism of the enhancers used, the apparent diffusion coefficient and apparent SC/vehicle partition coefficients were calculated.
