The biological control potential of four Microsphaeropsis isolates against the apple scab pathogen (Venturia inaequalis) and the effect of environmental factors on the growth, pycnidial production and spore germination of these isolates were examined on culture media and leaf discs. V. inaequalis ascospore production was reduced by 52.0, 77.4, 88.9, and 95.2% on leaf discs treated with the isolates IMI294735, P176A, DAOM198536 and P130A, respectively.
