Effect of environmental factors on the concentration of major and trace elements in some Saudi Arabian selected vegetables

Effect of environmental factors on the concentration of major and trace elements in some Saudi Arabian selected vegetables

Journal of the Saudi Chemical Society 6(2): 177-184

The amount of Na, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn, Cd, Pb, and Hg in cucumbers, lettuces, garden rocket carrots, and tomatoes collected from the local market of various Saudi Arabian regions (northern, southern, eastern, western, and middle) was determined. Vegetables from the eastern region had the highest Na, K, Fe, Mg, Ca, Cd, and Hg contents while those from the middle region had the highest levels of Zn and Pb.
