Effect of epizootic ulcerative syndrome on hematology of Channa puntatus (Bloch.)

Wild and cultivated freshwater species of fishes have been reported to be infected by epizootic ulcerative syndrome. The EUS infected fishes show ulcerative lesions. Localized haemorrhage on scale pocket in initial stage but sloughing off of scales, degeneration of epithelial tissue and deep haemorrhage and necrotic ulcer in tail. EUS caused significant decrease in the number of erythrocytes, leucocytes and haemoglobin content.
