Effect of experimental infection with H9 avian influenza virus on the immune system of chicken

The effect of experimental infection of avian influenza A virus Ck/YZ strain (H9) on avian lymphoid tissues was demonstrated by histopathological examination of the lymphoid organs of infected chicken. Results showed that slight lymphopenia appeared in bursal medulla but was not present in the thymus, spleen, Hardenian gland and caecal tonsils.
