Effect of feed processing, enzyme level and antibiotic supplementation to wheat based diets on apparent metabolizable energy, growth performance and gut development of broiler chicks

Effect of feed processing, enzyme level and antibiotic supplementation to wheat based diets on apparent metabolizable energy, growth performance and gut development of broiler chicks

It is hypothesized that if non-starch polysaccharides are not reduced by enzyme supplementation, it promotes the growth of microflora and reduces broiler chick performance. Due to concerns raised regarding antibiotic use in poultry feeds, a study was conducted to test the effect of enzyme level, either in combination with 1 of 3 antibacterial agents used by the industry or without antibacterial agents, on broiler chick performance.
