Effect of feed protein protection against rumen degradability using calcium salts of fatty acids on digestive processes in the rumen and intestine

Effect of feed protein protection against rumen degradability using calcium salts of fatty acids on digestive processes in the rumen and intestine

Roczniki Naukowe Zootechniki 28(2): 237-249

Ruminally and duodenally fistulated Black-and-White lowland bulls and nonfistulated bulls were investigated. Rumen degradability and intestinal digestibility of protein of soyabean meal protected with 10, 20 and 30% of calcium salts of fatty acids (CaSFA) were studied. The effect of feeds containing 25% of protected and unprotected soyabean meal on rumen fluid pH, concentration of volatile fatty acids (VFA) and ammonium N in the rumen was also determined.
