Male Wistar rats were fed with sesame oil (SO) and groundnut oil (GNO) for 8 weeks. In rats injected with 30 mg Fe2+ (as FeSO4)/kg body weight, lipid peroxidation was lower in serum, liver homogenates and liver microsomal suspension in sesame oil fed rats than in rats fed with groundnut oil diet. SOD is less in SO fed rats as compared to GNO fed rats.
