Effect of foliar application of growth regulators on biochemical attributes and grain yield in pearl millet

An experiment was conducted in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, during 2000 to determine the effect of foliar spray of 0.1 ppm brassinosteroid, 10 ppm triacontanol, 100 ppm salicylic acid, 40 ppm NAA and 50 ppm mepiquat chloride on yield and biochemical parameters of pearl millet. Application of these growth regulators, increased the content of chlorophyll, soluble protein, nitrate reductase activity, uptake of nitrogen, grain yield, grain protein and total sugar content.
