Some seed lots of perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) harbour Neotyphodium endophytes and generate mycotoxins that may induce cattle toxicoses. The effect of chemical and heat treatments in eradicating endophyte was evaluated. Two seed lots were treated with fungicides (prochloraze triticonazole, bitertanol, and fluquinconazole) at two doses or heat treated (oven treatment at 60 or 80 degrees C).
