Effect of growth regulators and stratification on germination and vigour of onion (Allium cepa L.) seed

Onion seeds (cv. Red Round Kalyanpur) were either stratified at 10 degrees C for 8 h or soaked in plant growth regulators (IAA and IBA at 100 and 200 ppm each, and TIBA and gibberellic acid (GA3) at 20 and 40 ppm each) for 8 h. Standard tests for germination and vigour were conducted for first count of germinated seeds, seedling, shoot and root length, seedling dry weight, and germination and vigour indexes.
