Seeds of barley, wheat, and cotton were soaked in solutions of H2O2, and then grown in pots filled with saline dernopodzolic soil (1% NaCl). It was found that 18 h of treatment with 6x10-2 and 6x10-3M solutions of H2O2 activated the growth of barley and wheat. Application of 6x10-5M H2O2 to the soil improved the salt resistance of cotton. It is concluded that H2O2 stimulates germination and sprouting, enabling the plants to adapt quickly to adverse conditions.
