A field experiment was conducted in Kharagpur, West Bengal, India, during summer 1993 and 1994 to investigate the effect of fertilizer and water on yield, water use efficiency and nutrient uptake in groundnut J 11. The treatment consisted of irrigation, following 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 IW:CPE ratio, and 6 fertilizer treatments, which supplied nutrients through inorganic alone and in combination with farmyard manure (FYM).
