A field experiment was conducted on sandy loam soil in Madhya Pradesh, India, during 1998-99 to investigate the effect of irrigation and intercropping on the growth, yield and quality of Indian mustard Rohini and linseed RLC-6. The irrigation treatments were: rainfed (control); one irrigation at 30 days after sowing (DAS); and 2 irrigations, at 30 and 60 DAS. the intercropping treatments were: sole mustard; sole linseed; and mustard:linseed at 2:2, 2:4 and 2:6.
