Effect of leaf extract of Daphne mucronata on plasma membrane alkaline phosphatase activity on two human cancer cell lines

The effects of an alcoholic extract of D. mucronata (from shoots collected from Fars Province, Iran) and one of its purified components on the cell membrane alkaline phosphatase were evaluated using two different human cancer cell lines. The IC50 of the crude extract was 42 and 45 micro l for K562 and LNCaP-FGC-10 cells, respectively. Each microlitre of the crude extract corresponded to 0.02 mg of the leaf powder.
