The relationship of the stage of maturity at harvest on storability is not yet fully understood, even though this aspect has been the subject of detailed studies. This aspect is of particular importance in species like neem seed, belonging to intermediate storage category, in which the seed under ordinary conditions are short lived and lack of proper understanding about the maturation status of fruits, can result in seed of poor viability and vigour.
