Stem borer (C. partellus, a major pest of maize, sorghum, and sugarcane) incidence has been correlated with weather factors. Among the meteorological factors measured in a field experiment conducted in Akola, Maharashtra, India, during the kharif season of 1980-2000, only minimum temperature showed significant and negative correlation with stem borer leaf injury with an 'r' value of -0.1734.
