Effect of nitrogen and crop duration on bulking behaviour of potato cv. Kufri Sutlej

The effects of N (75, 100, 125, 150 and 175 kg N/ha) and crop duration (75, 90, 105 and 120 days) on the bulking properties of potato Kufri Sutlej were determined in a field experiment conducted in Haryana, India during the rabi seasons of 1997-98. Plant height, number of stems per hill, leaf fresh weight, number of tubers per hill, dry matter content, yield of different grade tubers, mean total tuber yield and tuber bulking increased with increasing rates of N.
