The effects of N at 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 kg/fed as ammonium nitrate and postharvest period (0, 48, 96, 144 and 192 h after harvest) on the quality of sugarcane G.T. 54/9 were evaluated in a field experiment in Egypt, during the 1998-99 and 1999-2000 seasons. N rates and their interaction with postharvest period had no significant effect on brix, sucrose, purity, reducing sugar, pol and recovery sugar percentages. Brix and purity percentages increased with increasing postharvest duration.
