Effect of pesticides on acid phosphatase activity of mudskipper Boleophthalmus dussumieri

Effect of pesticides on acid phosphatase activity of mudskipper Boleophthalmus dussumieri

Journal of Ecotoxicology and Environmental Monitoring il; 13(2): 155-158

The acid phosphatase activity of liver and muscle ofmudskipper Boleophthalmus dussumieri was studied after exposure to cypermethrin and fenvalerate. There was a significant decrease, in acid phosphatase activity of liver and muscle after exposure to cypermethrin and fenvalerate. The decrease in muscle acid phosphatase activity on pesticide treatment ranged from -11.3 to -64% whereas the decrease in hepatic acid phosphatase activity on pesticide treatment varied from -15 to -65.2%. With increase in period of exposure, there was decrease in hepatic and muscle acid phosphatase activity.
