This experiment was conducted during 2000-01 to investigate the effect of planting time and ridge location on the growth of oriental melon, which is mainly planted during the period of low temperature in greenhouse cultivation. Differences in mean air temperature between east and west ridge in north-south oriented greenhouse were 5-7 degrees C during 4-15 January and 2-3 degrees C during 4-15 March.
