Effect of sowing dates and row spacings on yield and yield components of small grain millets on sandy loam soils of Dharwad

A field experiment was conducted during kharif 1998 in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. The treatments consisted of 2 sowing dates (19 June and 4 July) and 12 treatment combinations of 6 millet crops, i.e. finger millet foxtail millet kodo millet (Paspalum scrobiculatum), little millet proso millet and barnyard millet (Echinochloa frumentacea), and 2 row spacings (22.5 and 30.0 cm row). The yield potential of the millet crops varied significantly.
