The performance of lentil Giza 9 under various sowing dates (1 November, 15 November, and 1 December), sowing rates (30, 45, and 60 kg/feddan), and N sources (Rhizobium leguminosarum seed inoculation, 30 kg N/feddan, and R. leguminosarum inoculation+30 kg N/feddan) were studied in Assiut, Egypt, in 1998/99 and 1999/2000. Ammonium nitrate as a N source was applied during sowing.
