Effect of spacings and fertility levels on growth and fiber yield of mesta (Hibiscus cannabinus L.)

A field experiment was conducted in the kharif season of 1997, in Akola, Maharashtra, India, to investigate the effects of spacing (30x15, 45x15 and 60x15 cm2) and N:P:K fertilizer levels (25:12.5:12.5, 50:25:25, 75:37.5:37.5 kg/ha) on the growth and fibre yield of mesta (H. cannabinus Vidul Local). Basal stem girth was higher under 45x15 than 30x15 cm2 treatment. Fibre yield was higher at 45x15 and 30x15 cm2 than 60x15 cm2.
