Sucrose concentration conditions for induction of embryogenesis from isolated microspores were studied in four B. rapa rapid-cycling lines (CrGC 1.1, CrGC ant, CrGC ygr, and CrGC SDLm) and in a flowering pakchoi ('Tsja Sin', CGN15158). For all the five accessions evaluated there was an increase in embryo yields, as well as in embryo normality, by increasing the concentration of sucrose in NLN medium from 10 to 17% followed by a media change to 10% sucrose after 48 h of incubation.
