The effects of temperature (32 and 22 degrees C) on indica rice (cultivars Zhefu49 and Jiazao935) starch biosynthesis metabolism at the grain filling stage was investigated. The parameters tested were: sucrose content, amylose:starch ratio, and the activities of 6 key enzymes, sucrose synthase (SS), soluble starch synthesis enzyme (SSS), ADPG pyrophosphorylase (ADPG-Ppase), granule-bound starch synthase (GBSS), starch branching enzyme (SBE) and debranching enzyme (DBE).
