Effect of the treatment about the nutritious value of urea treated barley straw

Effect of the treatment about the nutritious value of urea treated barley straw

Archivos de Zootecnia 50(191): 343-353

The experiment was designed to determine the effect of treatment of barley straw with urea (6% of the DM) on chemical composition and nitrogenous content when conditions of treatment were varied (initial level of humidity 20, 30 and 40%, conservation temperature 25 and 35 degrees C). For chemical composition, treatment affected the content of NDF of the straw by reducing it in general, as a consequence of solubility of the hemicellulose.
